Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Nurse in Haematology/Oncology to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and young people with haematological and oncological conditions.

As a Specialist Nurse, you will be responsible for providing expert clinical advice and support to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals. You will work closely with our Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Clinical Nurses Specialists to develop and implement treatment plans, and provide education and training to staff and patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical advice and support to patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Provide education and training to staff and patients on haematological and oncological conditions.
  • Work closely with the Advanced Clinical Practitioner and Clinical Nurses Specialists to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registered Nurse (on relevant branch).
  • Extensive nursing experience within the speciality.
  • Excellent clinical nursing knowledge relevant to speciality.
  • Working knowledge of current and new evolving treatment regimes for cancer specialties.
  • Understanding of resource management, health and safety, clinical risk, and quality issues.
