At Oyster, we're seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join our team. This exciting opportunity will see you play a pivotal role in leading the way with all health and safety matters across our school estate.

This is a newly created role, offering you the chance to embed best practices and make a real impact. You'll work closely with our senior leadership team and staff to promote an integrated risk management culture and maintain a positive health and safety environment for all users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with legislation.
  • Provide expert advice and training to staff on health and safety matters.
  • Liaise with external bodies and authorities regarding health and safety compliance.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
  • Promote a culture of safety and well-being throughout the school community.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant qualifications in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
  • Proven experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within an educational or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, influence, and engage staff at all levels.
  • Proactive, with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
