The Role

As a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for working with our "Safe to Operate" team to receive and review information regarding our buildings in the Asset Management Plan (AMP). You will develop and undertake specific inspections of our buildings' systems to determine their adequacy against relevant good practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and undertake specific inspections of our buildings' systems to determine their adequacy against relevant good practice.
  • Flag any legislative or health and safety shortfalls immediately with Babcock.
  • Complete gap analysis reports on findings.
  • Provide a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders at a detailed level.
  • Review and assess the adequacy of maintenance, defect, performance/operability, and actual condition to determine whether our systems/buildings are safe to operate.
  • Ensure that procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.

Essential Experience

  • Have a good understanding of rules and regulations.
  • Previous experience as a Compliance Specialist in an industrial setting.
  • Have broad and deep knowledge of the management of high-risk activities and asset best practice in a highly regulated, high-hazard industrial workplace.
  • IOSH Risk Management/IOSH Managing Safely qualified and have operational experience.

Qualifications

  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Fire Management).
