Job Title: Marine Electronic Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Electronic Engineer to join our team at CV Library. As a Marine Electronic Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting installations, maintenance, and repairs of vessels' safety, communications, and navigation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct safety surveys on various merchant vessel types in line with SOLAS requirements, Classification societies, or MCA.
  2. Provide technical advice to stakeholders and customers on sales support.
  3. Work with the Principal Engineer and Administrator to ensure efficient operation of the Marine Service Centre and maintain existing client relationships.
  4. Carry out installation and commissioning of equipment on customers' vessels and premises.
  5. Perform maintenance and repair of equipment on customers' vessels and company premises.
  6. Be competent with marine equipment and integrated systems in line with experience and qualifications.
  7. Travel to other UK and Foreign locations as required.
Requirements:
  1. Past experience in a service industry and in-depth knowledge of Marine Navigation and communication systems.
  2. HNC/HND or equivalent in an Electronics/Electrical discipline.
  3. Full driving licence.
  4. Radio survey experience.
  5. Experience working for a marine electronics service company.
  6. Navigation and Communications manufacturers training courses.
Personal Attributes:
  1. Excellent communication skills, able to express ideas in written and verbal form to various audiences.
  2. Proven ability to think entrepreneurially and apply commercial business sense to technical decisions.
  3. Technical competency, showing in-depth understanding of marine industry rules and regulations, as well as electronics engineering knowledge.
  4. Working knowledge of the UK maritime market, including relevant suppliers.
Intrinsic Factors:
  1. This role is full-time, requiring regular travel in the UK and overseas. Flexibility with working hours and willingness to undertake overtime are expected.
  2. There will also be an element of office-based working.
  3. All Marine Electronics Engineers must pass a working at height medical and annual practical training course.
