Our Expectations

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Medical Administrator to join our Gastroenterology team at Worthing Hospital. As a Speciality Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to our consultants and medical staff, ensuring the effective operation of the administration function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a comprehensive administrative service for the consultants and medical staff.
  • Act as the point of contact for service users, providing empathetic and professional support.
  • Monitor inpatient and outpatient commitments of the consultant and medical team, escalating concerns when necessary.
  • Coordinate and allocate work within the administration team to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements
  • Medical Secretarial qualification (RSA Stage III Typing or equivalent) or relevant vocational experience.
  • Significant experience as a Coordinator, with excellent knowledge of administrative procedures and systems.
  • Previous NHS work experience in an acute or primary care setting, with proficiency in using healthcare systems/databases.
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to problem-solve and work independently.
