We are seeking experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistants to support the education and well-being of pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at our partner school in Hastings.

The school is part of an Ofsted 'outstanding' multi-academy trust and provides a nurturing, inclusive environment for pupils with SEMH and associated needs. Our aim is to deliver outstanding education and care, focusing on offering pupils the opportunity to build their resilience for the rest of their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and providing support for pupils with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Setting challenging and demanding expectations and promoting self-esteem and independence.
  • Providing feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher.
  • Assisting with the planning of learning activities.
  • Monitoring pupils' responses to learning activities and accurately recording achievement/progress as directed.
  • Promoting good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encouraging pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour.

Requirements:

  • Devotion and resilience to support children with SEMH needs.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is desirable.
  • Ability to motivate students towards high achievement.
  • Commitment to fulfilling the needs of pupils experiencing behavioural, emotional, or learning difficulties, and social communication difficulties.
