Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic Associate Energy Analyst to join our team at Steele Charles Ltd in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to support business growth and contribute to achieving the organisation's targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain techno-economic models that underpin business strategy.
  • Conduct targeted market research and analysis to support the development of business models and strategies.
  • Proactively follow market developments and commercial activity, capturing market comparables and benchmarking business models against competition.
  • Stay up-to-date with government support/subsidy regimes and provide expert insights on investment opportunities.
Requirements
  • A strong academic record and career progression to date, ideally within a well-regarded professional services firm or educational background involving numerical problem solving.
  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g., CA, CFA) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in financial modelling and valuation.
  • Preferably, experience in the energy sector.
  • Ability to work on ambiguous problems where the end goal/target is not always evident.
  • Strong communication and networking skills to build relationships across multiple disciplines.
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
  • Resilient and comfortable working in a small, dynamic, high-performing team.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Able to adapt to new tools and technologies, including coding languages like Python.
