About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and providing financial input to the strategy for Assistant Directors, ensuring statutory requirements for financial management and accountability are met and projects are delivered in line with financial regulations and deliver value for money for the Council.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and co-ordinate the financial processes around assessing and prioritising existing and incoming demands and allocating tasks to particular finance staff at certain levels.
  2. Support the management of a substantial amount of financial, people and other resources.
  3. Collaborate with the financial management team to ensure the successful management and delivery of the Council's finances and financial obligations.

Requirements:

The successful post holder will be a CCAB qualified Accountant who can demonstrate competencies across the following areas:

  1. Experience in managing complex data and information from a variety of sources, and ability to analyse and interpret performance data.
  2. Proficiency in financial management and regulation, with a strong understanding of public sector finance.
