Job Title: Interim Deputy Finance Controller

Project People is seeking an experienced Interim Deputy Finance Controller to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial leadership and support to our organization, with a focus on financial accounting, reporting, and tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Accounting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including month-end close processes, balance sheet management, and trial balance review.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial reports to management and stakeholders, including shareholder reporting and internal reviews.
  • Tax Compliance: Ensure compliance with VAT, corporation tax, and employee-related taxes, and work with external advisors to prepare corporation tax returns.
  • Financial Systems: Manage financial systems, including Agresso, and work with the Systems Accountant to optimize financial processes.
  • Team Management: Oversee the work of a Finance Analyst and provide leadership and guidance as needed.
Requirements:
  • Professional Qualification: Must be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
  • Technical Experience: Experience leading financial reporting processes, including preparing trial balances and reporting results for management review.
  • Managerial Experience: Audit management experience (Big 4 experience is an advantage).
  • Leadership Skills: Experience leading teams, driving improvements, and ensuring the finance department operates smoothly.
