About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and proactive Support Worker to join our team and support a young man with Spinal Muscular Atrophy type 2.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide comprehensive support in daily activities, both at home and during outings, and will have excellent communication skills, be open-minded, and have good organisation skills.

The role will involve assisting with personal care, medication, administration, commuting to appointments, and general social support, as well as accompanying the client to medical appointments and supporting with housekeeping.

The client has a passion for gaming, YouTube videos, and attending Comic cons, and the successful candidate will be able to encourage and support him in these interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing comprehensive support in daily activities, both at home and during outings
  • Assisting with personal care, medication, administration, and commuting to appointments
  • Accompanying the client to medical appointments and supporting with housekeeping
  • Encouraging and supporting the client in his interests and hobbies
Requirements
  • A Full UK driving license
  • Confident driver
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Open-minded
  • Good organisation skills
  • Physically fit, calm, and patient
