Job Overview

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate Governance Officer to join their team in York. As a key member of the organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the charity's compliance with statutory, regulatory, and charity commission requirements.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience as a qualified solicitor or barrister and a solid understanding of legislation, governance requirements, and best practices within the health and social care sector.

You will be responsible for overseeing the management of corporate risk, ensuring that the charity complies with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, and providing sound legal perspectives on key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a robust governance and compliance structure
  • Oversee the management of corporate risk
  • Lead on data protection matters for the organization
  • Provide Company Secretarial services to the Board and board committees
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
  • Solid understanding of legislation, governance requirements, and best practices
  • Demonstrated career record of being accountable for regulatory, governance, and legal activities
