Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Specialist Mechanical Engineer Instructor to join our team at the Defence College of Technical Training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in delivering training programs to military students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver training and lessons on mechanical engineering principles to military students
  • Develop and maintain training programs and course materials
  • Participate in internal and external evaluation audits
  • Ensure students meet required standards for conduct, punctuality, discipline, and dress
  • Integrate literacy and numeracy into lessons
  • Conduct safety briefings and ensure students observe fire, health, and safety precautions
  • Contribute to the Continuous Improvement of the School and its outputs
  • Prepare training areas and resources for instructional periods
  • Complete mandatory course documentation and undertake CPD
  • Support students with Specific Learning Difficulties and undertake additional lessons
  • Act as a role model and ensure highest standards of behaviour
  • Monitor student welfare and manage concerns through the chain of command

Requirements

  • Recognised experience and background in mechanical engineering
  • Ability to communicate complicated ideas to different audiences
  • Well-organised and proficient in time management
  • Good public speaking skills
