Colorectal Cancer Care Associate

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Urgent and Emergency Care Centre for a dedicated Clinical Support Worker to work alongside our team on Ward 12.
You will be required to assist qualified nursing staff in providing direct patient care, enabling a seamless assessment process at front of house.

Main Responsibilities- To assist in admitting patients to the ward, completing demographic details, and recording baseline observations.
- To provide care to patients following instructions in the care plan, program, or pathway.
- To demonstrate competence in accurately recording routine clinical observations.
- To recognize abnormal recordings or signs of change in a patient's condition and report changes to a registered nurse.
- To assess patients' level of dependence in meeting personal care needs and provide appropriate assistance (includes hygiene, mobility, nutrition, elimination, and comfort).
- To assist patients with eating and drinking in a sensitive and supportive manner.
- To accurately record information on patient food charts and fluid balance charts, reporting concerns to a registered nurse.
- To carry out clinical skills relevant to the ward/department and patient group (e.g., phlebotomy, ECG recording, simple dressings).
- To assist the clinical team with data entry, filing, and maintaining accurate documentation of care.
- To assist in escorting, transferring, and discharging patients, ensuring all property is packed and the bed area is prepared for the next patient.
- To ensure treatment rooms and ward areas are adequately stocked and tidy.
- To participate in clinical supervision.
- To assist in resolving conflicts by responding to concerns and complaints in a positive manner.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers novice leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust.

Salary and BenefitsThe estimated salary for this role is around £20,000 - £25,000 per annum, depending on experience.
