Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Learning Disability Nurse to join our team at Pennine Care NHS FT.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to work within our Learning Disability Directorate, providing specialist health and behaviour assessments to individuals referred to our team.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with our multidisciplinary team to achieve the 'Good Health' objectives of 'Valuing People', providing a safe, effective, responsive, efficient, timely, community nursing service to people with learning disabilities, their families and carers.

Main Duties of the Job

The post holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive assessments for individuals with a learning disability and complex and challenging needs.
  • Offering positive behavioural support training to identified others, including teams around the adult.
  • Developing a range of interventions and specialised care plans.
  • Coordinating the provision of clinical care, within a defined caseload, accessing supervision from a designated nurse as required.
  • Undertaking an active role in identifying and managing risk.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Registered Nurses Learning Disabilities (RNLD) qualification.
  • Post-registration training or willingness to undertake training, plus experience to postgraduate diploma level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting individuals who have a learning disability.
  • Experience in delivering advice and support to a wide range of people.
  • Experience in partnership working.
  • Experience in managing risk.
