Youth Care Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our Children’s Residential Service in Shrewsbury. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality care and support to young people aged 14-17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
The ideal candidate will be committed, passionate, and able to engage, encourage, and mentor young people. You will receive an in-depth induction and training programme upon joining our service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Promote the independence and well-being of young people in a therapeutic care environment.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people’s lives.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the individual’s care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication.
• Provide support for young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
• Ensure the safety of young people and protect them from risks to their health and welfare.
Requirements:
• Experience as a Children’s Support Worker, working with Young People or other social care experience is desirable.
• You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
• You must be over the age of 22.
• NVQ or QCF level 3 in Children & Young People is desirable.
Competitive Salary:
£27,336 - £30,336 per annum.
