Consultant Haematologist with Expertise in Red Cell Pathology

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust as a Consultant Haematologist with a focus on red cell pathology. The post-holder will lead the development and promotion of a comprehensive red cell service at the hospital and in the community.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe post-holder will be responsible for:
- Providing clinical leadership and oversight for patients attending the Sickle and Thalassaemia Day Unit and the proposed ED Bypass service.
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive red cell service, including outpatient clinics and inpatient care.
- Collaborating actively with colleagues in the Red Cell Network and the Haematology Clinical Committee to ensure excellent red cell care.
- Supervising trainees in blood and bone marrow morphology reporting.
North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust is part of the North Central London integrated care system, working closely with partners to deliver excellent patient care. We are proud of our staff and provide training opportunities to ensure they can provide the best possible care.
Person SpecificationThe post-holder will need to have:
- Full GMC specialist registration.
- Full MRCP or equivalent.
- Experience in haematology, particularly in red cell pathology.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
The post-holder will be expected to:
- Keep professional knowledge and skills up to date.
- Demonstrate a critical and enquiring approach to knowledge acquisition.
