Job Summary

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust as a Consultant Haematologist with a focus on red cell pathology. The post-holder will lead the development and promotion of a comprehensive red cell service at the hospital and in the community.

Main Responsibilities

The post-holder will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership and oversight for patients attending the Sickle and Thalassaemia Day Unit and the proposed ED Bypass service.
  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive red cell service, including outpatient clinics and inpatient care.
  • Collaborating actively with colleagues in the Red Cell Network and the Haematology Clinical Committee to ensure excellent red cell care.
  • Supervising trainees in blood and bone marrow morphology reporting.

Person Specification

The post-holder will need to have:

  • Full GMC specialist registration.

  • Keep professional knowledge and skills up to date.
