Transport Infrastructure Development Manager

The RoleAs a Senior Transport Planner, you will play a key role in delivering our ambitious goals by leading neighbourhood-based Healthy Streets projects across the Euston-King's Cross corridor. Your responsibilities will include project managing multiple Healthy Streets projects focused on road safety, bus priority, walking, cycling, traffic reduction, and public realm improvement. You will also support the Principal Transport Planner in developing complex area-wide low-traffic Safe & Healthy Streets projects in Euston and King's Cross.
Key Responsibilities:- Project manage Healthy Streets transport infrastructure projects from initiation to completion
- Develop and implement Healthy Streets projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality criteria
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including community groups, local residents, and partner organisations, to ensure effective engagement and consultation
- Provide technical expertise on Healthy Streets and strategic transport planning projects, including input on planning applications
- Support the Principal Transport Planner in providing input into the application process for new stations and associated development in the Euston Station Masterplan area
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Knowledge of the policy and statutory framework governing Euston Masterplan, Healthy Streets, and transport planning activities
- Skill and experience in project management, particularly in delivering Healthy Streets transport infrastructure projects
- Experience in healthy streets and strategic transport planning projects, including input on planning applications and working in a team on significant projects
- Good partnership working skills, with ability to develop effective stakeholder relations on transport matters
- Capacity to communicate clearly and sensitively as part of community engagement activities and with elected members
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Demonstrates initiative and a pro-active approach to carrying out work
- Good political awareness and sensitivity
- Good level of inter-personal skills
- Understanding of corporate policies and strategies
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or with equivalent experience in transport planning
We offer a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life insurance, and annual leave.
