Overview

AWS EMEA SARL (UK Branch) - F93 is seeking an experienced Financial Services Cloud Architect to join our team.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with the broader Financial Services team to develop the technical elements of the strategic plan for accelerating AWS adoption across the industry.

  2. Establish technical credibility in the sales cycle by supporting discussions with our Financial Services customers and partners.

  3. Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS within Financial Services and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.

  4. Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community.

  5. Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers.

  6. Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates.

  7. Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams, and support.

  8. Serve as a technical domain expert on deploying Financial Services industry workloads and applications on AWS.

  9. Architect solutions leveraging AWS technology, including solution development and potentially demonstrating technical feasibility through mechanisms including proof-of-concepts and/or prototypes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent.

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications.

  • Experience working in Financial Services organizations and implementing solutions in a regulated environment; driving technical and/or organizational change of significant complexity.

  • Experience working as an architect, designing and implementing large-scale solutions in the Financial Services industry.

  • Solid understanding of virtualization and/or cloud computing technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers.

  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming, or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud.

  • A strong understanding of AWS or other large-scale cloud services providers and cloud-based services and delivery modes (Iaas, PaaS, SaaS).

  • Deep experience with FSI-related applications, such as core insurance or banking systems, or big data architectures.

  • The ability to deal with ambiguity and work in a virtual team environment.

  • AWS certifications.
