Special Education Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support key stage 2 pupils with ASD and ADHD within a mainstream primary school. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with individual students who require additional support due to behavioural challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the classroom teacher and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for the student.
Establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
Use behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods to support students with challenging behaviour.
Requirements:
Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
