General Cover Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile General Cover Teacher to join our team at a 'Good' Ofsted-rated secondary school in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. As a General Cover Teacher, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality education across a variety of subjects and grade levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver comprehensive lessons across various subjects, ensuring a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a well-organised and professional classroom, with all necessary resources readily available.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with other staff members, both within the department and throughout the school, to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning community.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and monitor student development to inform future teaching strategies.
  • Policies and Procedures: Ensure that the school's policies and procedures are consistently implemented and followed.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Recent mainstream school-based experience as a General Cover Teacher or teaching.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum.
  • Classroom Management: Good level of classroom and behaviour management.
