We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care through effective medicines management.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our forward-thinking team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide a safe and effective medicines management service.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong understanding of pharmacy practices and procedures. You will also have experience working in hospital pharmacy settings and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality care to patients: Confirm patient medication histories, assess patients' own medicines, and counsel patients on their medications.
- Manage medicines stock**: Ensure accurate dispensing and issue prescriptions, including controlled drugs, in a timely fashion.
- Work collaboratively**: Participate in regular medicines management training sessions for nursing staff and contribute to the development of the extension of the medicines management scheme across all wards in the hospital.
Requirements:
- Education and Qualifications: BTEC Pharmaceutical Sciences/NVQ 3 or equivalent, registered as a practicing technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Experience: Hospital Pharmacy experience, education and training of staff, understanding of working effectively within multi-disciplinary groups.
- Skills and Knowledge: Interpret and dispense prescriptions accurately, organisation and prioritisation of workload, motivate self and others, effectively provide advice to patients regarding medicines.
Salary and Benefits: £34,521 to £41,956 per annum (pro rata), HCAS included. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and a submission for Disclosure will be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
