Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our finance team in North Manchester. This role offers a competitive salary and a range of benefits, including study support and flexible working arrangements.

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of Bayman Atkinson Smythe Ltd. You will report directly to the Accounts Manager and be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial records.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the Sales Ledger, including setting up new accounts, checking credit limits, raising invoices, and allocating cash
  2. Process, code, and resolve queries in the Purchase Ledger, as well as manage payment runs
  3. Play a proactive role in Credit Control, chasing overdue debts, emailing customer statements, placing accounts on hold, and producing debt reports
  4. Assist with payroll tasks, including PAYE and pension payments
  5. Take ownership of month-end responsibilities, including reconciling supplier statements, bank accounts, producing VAT reports, resolving debtor queries, and balancing control accounts

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role, be actively studying CIMA, and be committed to delivering high-quality work. In return, we offer a competitive salary, study support, and opportunities for career development.
