About the Role


We are seeking a talented Procurement Manager to join our team. As a key member of our production unit, you will be responsible for placing orders, managing stocks, and reducing waste. Your expertise in materials management and supplier relationships will ensure we deliver top-tier products on time and within budget.



Key Responsibilities



  • Place orders for agreed materials and manage stock levels to meet production demands.
  • Reduce wastage and minimize over/understocks by implementing efficient inventory control measures.
  • Manage prices and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive rates.
  • Utilize our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to create accurate orders and plan material deliveries.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and suppliers to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Clean and update MRP system data regularly to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Update relevant trackers and systems to reflect changes in inventory and production.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of materials categories to make informed purchasing decisions.


Requirements


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Proficiency in all office packages, particularly Excel.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing or procurement role.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Confidence in dealing with various stakeholders at all levels.
  • The ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Right to work in the UK.
