Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our team at the University of Exeter. The successful candidate will have a strong background in molecular cell biology, protein biochemistry, and imaging, with a keen interest in elucidating the molecular mechanisms of organelle communication in cellular lipid metabolism and developmental processes.
The post will involve molecular cloning, CRISPR/Cas technology, protein biochemistry, and studies on protein interaction/recombinant proteins, lipid metabolism, and work with cultured mammalian cells. The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically, and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies.
About YouWe are looking for an individual with a PhD (or nearing completion) in a related field of study, such as biology or biochemistry, with a strong knowledge of molecular cell biology, molecular cloning, protein biochemistry, and a keen interest in solving cell biological problems. The successful applicant will work closely with Prof. Michael Schrader and his team, in close collaboration with international partners.
