We are seeking a motivated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special educational needs school in St Helens, Merseyside.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support for students with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and Speech and Language delays.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual or small group support for students with various special educational needs.
  • Support students in both classroom-based and outdoor learning activities.
  • Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to the monitoring and reporting of student progress.
  • Provide behavioural and emotional support to help students manage their emotions and interactions with peers.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children or adults with SEN.
  • Knowledge of specific SEND areas, such as autism, ADHD, Makaton, or PECS (desirable but not essential).
