Join Our Team as a Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Academics Ltd. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational support to children with ALN, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Offer social and emotional support to children, helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of the school.
  • Contribute to inclusive education practices, promoting equality and diversity.
  • Manage behavior effectively, creating a positive and respectful learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with ALN, either in a personal or school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children's education and personal development.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently, with a flexible approach to meeting the needs of the school.
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding and health & safety procedures, with a commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment.
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
Desirable Skills:
  • Full driving license and access to a car, with the ability to travel to and from school.
  • Living in Newport, with a strong understanding of the local community and its needs.
  • Knowledge of the national curriculum, with a commitment to delivering high-quality education.

We offer a competitive salary, ranging from £416.65 to £450 weekly, with the possibility of a permanent school contract in 2025/26. Our PAYE system ensures no obscure deductions, and our fast and simple registration process makes it easy to get started.
