Job Overview

We are recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at a leading manufacturing company. As a key member of the electrical maintenance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of plant equipment and minimizing downtime.

About the Role

This is a varied and enjoyable position that offers the opportunity to be challenged, supported, and contribute to continuous improvement of machinery. You will be responsible for all aspects of electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and carry out preventative maintenance to ensure high standards of plant maintenance
  • Assist in all maintenance activities on site, working as part of the electrical maintenance team
  • Ensure all electrical plant equipment operates efficiently with minimal downtime
  • Conduct fault finding, planned maintenance, shutdowns, and project work related to electrical maintenance
  • Provide good communication to colleagues and production, maintaining required logs of maintenance work

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A recognised electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Knowledge of Siemens PLCs (S7) and TIA Portal
  • Experience working within a multi-skilled team
  • Experience of electrical maintenance engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Relevant electrical experience, including 3-phase systems, star/delta motors, sensors, inverters, PLC fault finding, contactors, relays, servo drives, installations, and general maintenance

Working Conditions

The role involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability. You will work a 4-on-4-off shift pattern, switching between day and night shifts.

Salary and Benefits

This exciting opportunity comes with a competitive salary of £45,000-£47,000 per annum, plus overtime opportunities and the chance to learn and develop. The salary range reflects the challenging nature of the role and the skills required.
