About Our Client

Michael Page is partnering with a multinational company in the battery and energy storage industry to find a Senior Buyer for Raw Materials strategy.

Job Description

The Senior Buyer will be responsible for defining and leading the Raw Materials strategy for Battery and Energy Storage that the company needs for the coming decades. This includes putting in place all contracts or partnerships validated in the strategy worldwide and for all the value chain from mining to battery or storage packs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define the company's MBES strategies on all raw materials (Nickel, Cobalt, Manganese, Graphite, Hydrogen...) and along all the value chain of each, with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage internal and external reporting requirements to ensure accurate reflection of the business' working practices, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Implement KPI metrics to measure, monitor, and report progress.
  • Communicate and present performance data across the organization and to stakeholders.
  • Ensure standards and policies for suppliers meet regulatory requirements and stakeholder expectations.
  • Represent the Company in working groups and international congresses/seminars.
The Successful Applicant
  • Hold a Master's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or Finance.
  • Have a strong grasp of the entire value chain for raw materials used in energy storage, especially batteries and hydrogen.
  • Be fluent in relevant standards and best practices within the industry.
  • Have a minimum of 10 years' experience in this field with a strong network of contacts.
  • Be skilled at analyzing and critically evaluating reports from subcontractors and raw material companies.

Fluent English is a must for this role. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, energetic, and proactive individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. Excellent communication skills are required to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. The ability to translate complex data into clear and concise insights for decision-making is essential. The candidate should be confident in presenting information to a diverse audience, including senior management and external partners.
