About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Anaesthetic Specialist to join our team at the Kent & Canterbury Hospital. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing anaesthetic services for elective and emergency surgery in our state-of-the-art operating theatre suite.

Your duties will include supporting the ITU and perioperative management of surgical patients, as well as providing anaesthetic services for a range of specialties, including vascular surgery, urology, and day surgery.

You will work closely with our team of clinicians to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and liaison skills, who is able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide anaesthetic services for elective and emergency surgery
  • Support the ITU and perioperative management of surgical patients
  • Work closely with our team of clinicians to ensure high standards of patient care and safety
  • Communicate effectively with other medical and service departments within the hospital

Person Specification

  • Full GMC registration and licence to practice
  • Completed basic postgraduate training at CT level in an anaesthetic training programme
  • Completed Initial Assessment of Competence (IAC) or equivalent and achieved Competence in Obstetric Anaesthesia
