Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Heart Failure Specialist Nurse to join our proactive professional multi-disciplinary team at Manchester Foundation NHS Trust. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing patients with coronary heart disease and heart failure, and will be responsible for providing clinical advice, delivering training, and writing reviewing policies and guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be a team player, and able to work autonomously. They will also have a strong commitment to providing excellent care and improving patient outcomes.

The role includes all aspects of heart failure nursing, including patient assessment, management, and education. The successful candidate will be involved in the collection and monitoring of the National heart failure audit.

Main Duties
  • Provide clinical advice and guidance to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Deliver training and education programs to patients and healthcare professionals
  • Write and review policies and guidelines related to heart failure care
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of heart failure services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes
Person Specification
  • Registered General Nurse
  • First level degree or equivalent
  • Heart Failure/ Cardiology qualification or relevant post graduate qualification at Masters level or equivalent
  • Teaching/ assessing Qualification (ENB 998/Mentorship or equivalent)
  • Non Medical Prescriber, or willingness to undertake
  • Recognised counselling or Advanced Communication training
