Job Title: Effects and Vulnerability Engineer - Directed Energy Weapons

MBDA is seeking an experienced Effects and Vulnerability Engineer to join our team in the Lasers domain. As a key member of our Dragonfire project, you will be responsible for developing mathematical models and simulations to predict the effectiveness of Laser weapon systems on targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain mathematical models and simulations to predict the effects of Laser weapon systems on targets
  • Analyze data from trials and experiments to calibrate and evolve models
  • Interpret simulation outputs to understand the effects on targets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate effects and vulnerability expertise into system design

Requirements:

  • Experience in developing tools, simulations, or algorithms in MATLAB or similar toolsets
  • Understanding of how to leverage and expand toolsets, plus interpret data emanating from these toolsets
  • Experience in configuring and running simulations, and interpreting output
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work at pace, delivering complex information into the project
