Job Description

Job Title: Senior Clerical Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Clerical Officer to provide effective clerical support services to our stakeholders and customers. The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Leader to provide a central support service to the Homeless Team, ensuring the standardization and implementation of all processes and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide an effective financial business support service, including handling and recording of both Council and client fund monies.
  • Process manual and computerized financial, client, and service information.
  • Produce and analyze reports.
  • Document production, including typing letters and reports.
  • Process purchase orders.
  • Provide basic IT assistance.
  • Instruct, allocate, and check work of employees.
  • Offer advice and guidance to clerical assistants as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a clerical role and carrying out a wide range of support duties.
  • Working with a range of software packages, including Microsoft Excel and databases.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and a flexible approach.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and quality standards.
  • Effective customer service skills.
  • Self-motivation and resilience when handling challenging and vulnerable client groups.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of procurement systems (PECOS).
  • AIS experience.
  • Previous experience of supervising staff.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
