Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Clerical Officer to provide effective clerical support services to our stakeholders and customers. The successful candidate will work closely with the Team Leader to provide a central support service to the Homeless Team, ensuring the standardization and implementation of all processes and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide an effective financial business support service, including handling and recording of both Council and client fund monies.
- Process manual and computerized financial, client, and service information.
- Produce and analyze reports.
- Document production, including typing letters and reports.
- Process purchase orders.
- Provide basic IT assistance.
- Instruct, allocate, and check work of employees.
- Offer advice and guidance to clerical assistants as required.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a clerical role and carrying out a wide range of support duties.
- Working with a range of software packages, including Microsoft Excel and databases.
- Ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Effective communication skills.
- Organizational skills and a flexible approach.
- Ability to work to deadlines and quality standards.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Self-motivation and resilience when handling challenging and vulnerable client groups.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of procurement systems (PECOS).
- AIS experience.
- Previous experience of supervising staff.
- SVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
