Counsellor Required for Student Support

Salary: £29,484-£31,108pa inclusive of London Weighting pro rata

Type: Permanent

We are seeking a skilled Counsellor to provide one-to-one support to our students with emotional or behavioural issues. The successful candidate will assess individual student needs and collaborate with students and tutors to develop targeted support plans and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide emotional support to students with diverse backgrounds and needs
  2. Collaborate with students and tutors to develop and implement support plans
  3. Act as a Safeguarding Officer within the Safeguarding Team
  4. Ensure a high-quality, responsive service to students experiencing welfare and safeguarding issues

This is a part-time role, working 21.6 hours per week, term-time only. The actual salary is £14,521-£15,423 per annum.

Requirements:

  1. Accredited Counsellor qualification
  2. Membership with BACP, UKCP, BABCP, or equivalent
  3. Experience working with young people
  4. Good organisational skills and ability to work independently
  5. Understanding of safeguarding practices
