Job Title: Category Manager

Olivercarol Recruitment is working with Ramsden International, a leading FMCG exporter, to find a talented Category Manager to join their team.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Category Manager to develop and implement a best-in-class Category Management strategy to support the Sales team in delivering additional sales with existing and new customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective Category strategies tailored to market needs
  • Support the sales team in building territory plans and identifying new opportunities
  • Ensure all agreed KPIs are visible and measured consistently throughout the year
  • Provide category performance updates to influence customer purchasing decisions
  • Own branded range management and ensure delists are managed professionally with customers
  • Develop and communicate an annual promotional plan with key suppliers/brand owners
  • Select and compile promotional activity content
  • Work closely with the Trading function to leverage supplier support
  • Collaborate with Product Data and Compliance Teams to ensure product data is current and available
  • Develop bespoke range recommendations for key customers to drive incremental sales
  • Create planograms for generic or bespoke projects based on customer data
  • Provide market insights to the Commercial Director for Exec meetings
  • Educate the wider business on key trends and market developments

Requirements:

  • Experience in FMCG Category management with evidence of translating data into insight
  • Proven experience of delivering additional sales or opening new customers using a targeted category approach
  • Strong numeracy skills, including data interpretation and management accounts
  • Competency in Excel and ability to build compelling presentations
  • Able to distill raw data to highlight relevant messages
