Warehouse Operative Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our team in Scarborough. The successful candidate will pick items from the warehouse, using high-tech scanning machines and trolley systems in accordance with internal company process and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Picking and Packing: Accurately pick and pack orders to meet delivery deadlines.
- Quality Control: Check the quality of the items that are being dispatched, including taking the time to repackage poorly presented items.
- Dispatch Assistance: Assist with the dispatch of orders, ensuring all items are scanned and placed into the correct size packaging, sealed and stickered correctly.
- Stock Checks: Undertake stock checks as and when required, and maintain accurate records.
- Warehouse Operations: Operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively, and collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Requirements:
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or stock control role is preferred but not essential.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are required.
- Manual Dexterity: Manual dexterity is necessary for operating warehouse equipment.
- Lifting and Moving: The ability to lift and move products of heavy weight is required.
- Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Communication: Good communication skills and a positive attitude are essential.
- Flexibility: Flexibility to adapt to changing workloads and priorities.
Shift Pattern:
The successful candidate will work a 4-weekly rotation with two weekends off and a set day off in the week for working a Saturday or Sunday. The shift pattern will be 40 hours per week across 5 days out of 7.
