Job Description

As a Commissioning Engineer at Wifinity Group, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful deployment of new sites and changes to existing installations on our network. Your primary responsibility will be to activate remote sites onto our core network, perform final commissioning and quality assessment of installations, and make on-site network changes to improve or upgrade our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend remote sites in accordance with your rotation schedule, staying overnight when necessary.
  • Perform audits of the quality of installation works to act as handover acceptance from installation teams.
  • Commission remote site core network infrastructure, including circuits, onto the Wifinity network.
  • Bring onto the network various elements such as radio links, PON fibre distribution, fibre or copper cabling, access points, microtiks, antennas, satellites, modules, etc.
  • Create and carry out test procedures, covering cabling, wireless, or product testing.
  • Liaise with installation teams and project managers.
  • Ensure new or added hardware and services are on the company monitoring system and fully ready for service transition into operations.
  • Maintain workflow process reports with back-office support.
  • Train field engineering staff where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Prior experience working as a network, field, or commissioning engineer or similar within the telecommunications sector.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting network inventories, design documents, patching schedules, and other similar materials.
  • Sound ICT skills, with a good level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
