Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor to lead and oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation plant at LondonEnergy.

LondonEnergy processes nearly 750,000 tonnes of waste every year, producing enough waste-to-energy to power 80,000 homes annually. Our team works across various North London sites, making a positive impact on the environment and local community.

Responsibilities:

Technical

  • To identify plant-related problems and coordinate maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation plant.
  • Ensure equipment maintenance follows manufacturers' guidelines and update specifications as necessary.
  • Provide technical support, including hands-on assistance, to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
  • Assist in designing equipment solutions to address electrical, instrument, and electronic issues.
  • Collaborate with the Electrical Engineering Manager to eliminate or reduce plant-related problems.

Supervisory

  • To supervise contractors, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards.
  • To enforce site regulations, agreements, and disciplinary procedures.

Requirements

  • Ability to work outside normal hours to provide technical guidance and support.
  • Strong electrical skills and working knowledge of instrumentation is desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as Electrical City & Guilds or HNC in Electrical Engineering, are preferred.
  • Familiarity with control systems, including PLC equipment, AC drives, and HV equipment, is essential.
  • Significant experience supervising technicians and engineers in a heavy engineering environment is required.
