We support an extensive range of Capital Markets products and services, including Fixed Income, Equity, and Syndicates. Our Operations groups are core to the success of the Markets business, impacting the lifecycle of a trade. We partner with internal stakeholders, including Front Office Sales and Trading Desks, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and HR, and interact with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience.

Job Purpose:

Margins Operations is part of Markets Operations, mitigating credit risk and complying with regulatory requirements. Core responsibilities include margin calls processing, collateral optimization, exception resolution, and regulatory compliance. Margin Operations plays a significant role in supporting internal and external clients throughout the end-to-end margin process, covering OTC Derivatives, Futures/Clearing, Fixed Income Finance, Prime Broker, and Cross Product Margining.

Responsibilities:

  • Process margin calls to ensure successful receipt and/or payment of agreed and eligible collateral.
  • Optimize collateral to minimize risk and maximize efficiency.
  • Resolve and escalate exceptions, including fails, cash breaks, and margin disputes.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through collateral collection and posting, portfolio reconciliations, and client valuations.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a financial services role, preferably with experience in Margin/Collateral Management or Derivatives Settlements operational functions.
  • Foundational knowledge of Margin/Collateral Management or Derivatives Settlements operational functions.
  • Experience participating in delivery of change programs and demonstrating business analysis and requirement writing skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders of different levels of seniority and from different areas of the firm.
  • Motivation and intellectual curiosity to learn about the full 'front-to-back' process and related teams' overtime to be more effective.
  • Requires analytical skills to filter, prioritize, and validate potentially complex material from multiple sources.
  • Presents data and analyzes/validates to develop valued-added solutions to increase productivity and efficiencies, mostly but not limited to, collateral and margin.
  • Ability to build relationships.
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; ideally with a leadership mindset.
  • Strong risk management and control mindset.
