Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Tax Director to oversee a mixed client portfolio offering compliance, advisory, and tax planning services to a range of corporate and personal clients.
  • Review and preparation of personal tax returns for a portfolio of clients to include sole traders, partnerships, OMBS, HNWIs, and trusts.
  • Preparation, review, and submission of corporation tax returns and computations.
  • Advising individuals and companies on routine and ad-hoc tax matters.
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Dealing with HMRC enquiries into personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Assist on tax advisory projects for existing clients and prospects.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities within individual and corporate clients.
  • Meeting with clients and potential clients.
  • Supporting and reviewing the work of more junior members of the tax team.

Requirements:

  • Ideal CTA newly qualified or late stage studying with at least 3+ years' experience in a similar mixed personal and corporate tax role incorporating compliance, advisory, and planning working for a UK-based practice.
  • Strong technical tax knowledge to include CGT, IHT, and all business taxation aspects.
  • Daily dealings with a varied client portfolio and regular meetings with staff and clients.
  • Ability to write letters explaining complicated planning issues as well as verbal communication skills.
