Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a permanent basis, working on our Surrey County Council contract based out of the Merrow offices in Guildford.

About the Role: As a Quantity Surveyor, you will assist in the delivery and governance of commercial services to the Maintenance Contract, ensuring value for money for the client and sustainable shareholder value.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process applications on the contract, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  2. Process early warnings and variations, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  3. Process subcontractor liabilities, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  4. Process subcontractor applications for payment, maintaining accurate records.
  5. Carry out duties in line with all Company Procedures and Policies, ensuring excellence in commercial elements of the Contract.
  6. Ensure all work is carried out to correct specification / standard, using Action Reporting Procedure to plan and implement continuous improvements.
  7. Work in-line with the European Foundation of Quality Management (EFQM) Model, ensuring alignment with company values.

Requirements:

  1. Quantity Surveying qualification or working towards; experience and time served rather than formal qualifications will be considered.
  2. Quantity Surveyor experience ideally on a Highways contract or Civils/Construction.
  3. Understanding of cost management systems and ability to learn the Confirm Client Ordering system.
  4. An understanding of the principles of measurement within the Highways Maintenance environment is desirable.
  5. Strong Excel and systems experience.
  6. Experience of Cost Value Reconciliation.
