Job Description

Job Title: Project Development Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Development Engineer to join our team at London Gatwick. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of complex projects across the airport.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise multi-disciplined construction projects, working closely with the Project Management team to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Deliver regular site safety engagement to ensure compliance with Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards and promote a positive HSE culture.
  • Review contractor CDM and quality and commissioning submittals for quality and compliance.
  • Coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineering colleagues to ensure all works are installed to plan.
  • Manage project handover and closeout processes, ensuring seamless transition to operational teams.
  • Develop and implement quality management principles and practices to ensure high-quality project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Field Engineer, Site Engineer, NEC Supervisor, or Clerk of Works in the construction or civil engineering sectors, managing multi-year projects valued at up to £10 million.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think innovatively and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams and contractors.
  • Knowledge of quality management principles and practices, with experience in implementing and maintaining quality management systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, live environment, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
