We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Conservation and Species Protection Officer at Loch of the Lowes Wildlife Reserve.

Job Description

This is an 8-week paid role that offers invaluable training and experience in species protection, working with volunteers, and public engagement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with Visitor Centre staff and volunteers, monitoring and recording breeding ospreys' behaviour, and engaging with members of the public.

Responsibilities
  • Monitoring and recording breeding ospreys' behaviour
  • Providing protection for resident ospreys and other species, their nest, eggs, and chicks during the critical part of the breeding season
  • Engaging with members of the public, both in hides and on regular patrols around the reserve
  • Intervening and taking appropriate action in incidents of disturbance
  • Monitoring additional webcams for beaver activity and other wildlife footage
