Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Team Lead to join our team at DSV. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of warehouse operatives and ensuring the efficient operation of our warehouse function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of warehouse operatives to achieve business targets and ensure an efficient warehouse operation
  • Provide line management to the team, coordinating workloads, providing support, and monitoring performance to meet production targets, KPIs, and quality standards
  • Develop the team by focusing on individual performance and support requirements to achieve high standards and foster a culture of working safely
  • Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation, training new operatives, and ensuring accurate inventories and stock movements
  • Identify systems improvements and make recommendations for change, resolve issues, and produce regular reports and statistics as required
  • Ensure health and safety meets required standards, maintain high standards of security, and ensure a clean and tidy working environment
  • Act up for management to cover leave and absence, manage time and attendance, and communicate with staff on priorities, targets, and operational requirements
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies as required, and comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies
  • Engage interest and participation of others, contribute to team development, and show moral courage, openness, and honesty in all dealings

Requirements

  • Team Leader skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and supervise others
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, good IT skills, and analytical and numerical skills
  • Good understanding of customer deliverables and the impact of failure or cost of poor quality, good planning skills, and able to meet targets and deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail skills, GCSEs Level A-C, NVQ Level 2, and an appropriate warehousing qualification would be advantageous
  • Certified in Dangerous Goods Handling, a supervisory qualification would also be beneficial, and proven experience as a Warehouse Team Leader with experience of supervising and motivating a team
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements, knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous, and a Fork Lift Truck licence may be required
