Job Title: Senior Python Developer - API Engineering

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join our team at Opus Recruitment Solutions. As a Senior Python Developer, you will be responsible for building and deploying APIs, designing APIs for clients and partners, and collaborating with the development team to influence system architecture and feature design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop ETL pipelines using Python and AWS services
  • Build and deploy APIs for interconnected services
  • Design APIs for clients and partners (authentication / versioning / documentation)
  • Help prioritize our backlog with a balance between short-term deliverables and longer-term investment in our technology
  • Effectively communicate trade-offs to other areas of the business
  • Collaborate with the whole development team to influence system architecture and feature design
  • Design, test, and deploy new features in a continuous and iterative manner
  • Work autonomously on projects from start to finish, and be responsible for the code you write. You build it, you run it.

Requirements:

  • Several years experience as a backend engineer
  • Experience with AWS: ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS/SQS
  • Strong testing practices, especially Test Driven Development
  • Experience with Enterprise Integration Patterns
  • An end-to-end systems-mindset; we are building a product that should grow itself and require minimal intervention from our team
  • Experience working in a close knit, collaborative, rapidly growing team
  • The ability to work in a highly agile environment, using CI/CD practices
  • A passion for creating products that are user-friendly and contribute to our product-led growth strategy
  • A knack for identifying good UX
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Nice to have: Experience with Event Driven Architecture and System architecture
