Job Purpose:

The Senior Hospitality Assistant will work closely with the Chef to prepare and cook food for residents in our care homes, ensuring high-quality service and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional food and drink service to residents, tailored to their needs and preferences.
  • Work with the Chef to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance in food preparation and presentation.
  • Deputise for the Chef, including cooking evening meals and breakfasts in care homes.
  • Support Resident Support Assistants with food plating and presentation.
  • Conduct daily compliance checks on temperature controls, food labelling, and allergens.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, including washing up and removing food waste.
  • Assist with stock management, rotation, and ordering.
  • Closely follow protocols for safely closing down the kitchen at the end of the day.
Requirements:
  • Food hygiene qualification level 2.
  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE maths and English.
  • Experience working in a care home environment.
  • Experience working in a catering environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of good food hygiene practices.
  • Knowledge of health and safety principles.
Desirable:
  • Diploma (or NVQ) level 2 Catering/Food Service or equivalent.
  • Experience supervising a team.
Additional Information:

This role requires a high level of communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on providing excellent customer service.

The salary for this role is £12.43 per hour, with a salary range of £24,238.50 per annum. The working hours are part-time, with a 20-hour contract.
