We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our thriving secondary school in Lambeth, London. As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department and ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities.

• Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science practicals, adhering to health and safety protocols.
• Manage the inventory of lab equipment, chemicals, and supplies, ensuring they are well-stocked and organized.
• Support teachers and students during practical lessons, offering technical guidance when needed.
• Maintain and calibrate lab equipment, ensuring everything is in good working order.
• Oversee health and safety regulations in the lab, ensuring a safe environment for staff and students.
• Assist with the disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Science Department to develop engaging practical resources and demonstrations.
• Support school events by assisting with science demonstrations and experiments.

• Prior experience in a lab setting, especially within a school, is preferred.
• A keen interest in science and a solid understanding of basic scientific principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on health and safety compliance.
• Good communication skills for effective collaboration with teachers, students, and staff.
• Familiarity with lab equipment and basic scientific software.
