Academics Ltd is a specialist secondary school in Surrey that provides support for secondary-aged pupils with a wide range of learning and behavioural needs.
The school's unique environment closely fits the needs and challenges faced by its students, who have a designated Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) detailing their specific needs.
Your role will involve supporting these students to access further education or training, helping them establish a sound understanding of key subjects like maths and English.

Key aspects of the job include:
- School Overview: Our school caters to students with autism, Down's syndrome, speech and language challenges, and social, emotional needs.
- Class sizes range from 6-8 students, with a focus on effective communication techniques.
- We have therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support from therapists including SALTs, Occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors.
- We implement an Integrated Therapeutic Approach and provide extensive 1-1 support for every pupil.
- We use specialist communication methods like Makaton and PECS.
- Our curriculum focuses on preparation for GCSE subjects and building a curriculum tailored to each student's needs.
- We encourage LSAs who know their objectives and want to continue their journey to become a speech and language therapist.
