Class 2 Driver - Bin Collection Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Class 2 Driver to join our team at South Cambridge Council, responsible for efficient bin collection services in residential and commercial areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a Class 2 vehicle to collect waste bins from designated routes, ensuring adherence to the collection schedule and timely pickups.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any issues promptly.
  • Safely manoeuvre the vehicle through various traffic and environmental conditions.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of bins, using appropriate lifting and handling techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of collected waste and provide friendly, professional customer service.
  • Follow waste management regulations and guidelines to ensure proper disposal procedures.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class 2 driving license with a clean record.
  • Valid CPC certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Class 2 Driver, preferably in domestic areas.
  • Strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Physical fitness to handle manual lifting and manoeuvring of bins.
  • Effective communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading waste management company dedicated to promoting sustainability and maintaining a clean environment. As a Class 2 Driver for Bin Collection, you will play a crucial role in providing reliable and efficient bin collection services to our customers.

Working Hours and Pay:

Working hours: 6am-3:45pm, with overtime paid at time and a half. Potential Temp to Perm placement.
