Key Responsibilities- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term strategies for solid waste management, taking into account the municipality's goals and objectives.
- Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to solid waste management, including the evaluation and implementation of technical solutions to address solid waste needs and services.
- Team Leadership: Lead a team of highly skilled professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching to ensure excellent customer service and quality service delivery.
- Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including departmental and organizational leaders, to ensure unity and cohesion in achieving departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
- Certifications: Certified as a Managing Integrated Solid Waste Management Systems and Manager of Operations for Landfills, or capable and eligible to obtain both.
- Education: A Degree/Diploma in Waste Management, Environmental Technology, Business Administration, or Management, Environmental Management, or a related discipline, along with five or more years' experience related to solid waste management and/or managing a significant business operation.
- Equivalent Combination: A demonstrated equivalent combination of practical field experience and formal training will be given full consideration.
- Asset: Certification in Wastewater Operations would be an asset.
