This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist to join our dynamic Cellular Pathology team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be based in our purpose-built laboratory facility at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan. The position offers a fantastic chance to develop the latest in mechanised slide scanning technology and computational pathology, working closely with clinical service users to meet their needs and progress service quality and effectiveness.
Main ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking an individual with a strong background in Biomedical Science or equivalent, who can demonstrate experience of working in a laboratory using manual and automated techniques. Essential skills include the ability to pick up techniques quickly following a training program, knowledge of quality control and assurance, and excellent telephone manner.
A flexible approach to meeting the needs of the service is also essential, as well as the ability to work without supervision and as part of a team. Knowledge of Clinical Laboratory Accreditation requirements and Laboratory Information management systems are desirable, but not required.
What We OfferBetsi Cadwaladr University Health Board offers a competitive salary range for this role, estimated at £25,528 - £35,745 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
